Sun Block or Sun Tan Lotion?
There are several differences in the topical sprays, lotions and creams and there are distinct differences in the products.
Sun Block is designed to protect the skin from the sun’s ultraviolet radiation. It can reduce sunburn and reduce damage to the skin and it has the potential to lower risk of cancer. Sun block is used to deflect Ultraviolet radiation. Commonly known as UV radiation. Sun block products usually contain either an opaque material that reflects the sunlight or a chemical compound that absorbs the ultra violet light reducing the effect it has on the skin.
Sun Tan Lotion is designed to attract the ultra violet sunrays in order to better tan your skin. It is common to find sun tan lotions sprays and creams in tanning salons that provide artificial ultraviolet rays. Some sun tan lotions designed for the outdoors may not contain any protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
Use sun block and sun tan lotion products designed for your level of sun exposure. If you are working on a line free tan, you may want to only apply a sun tan lotion to attract the ultra violet rays from the direct sunlight for about ten to twenty minutes depending on your pigment. After you have been in the sun for up to twenty minutes it is time to switch products and protect your skin. Avoid over exposure (burning) by applying sun block if you will be enduring further sun exposure. Remember to reapply sun block anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours depending on exposure and activity. If you are perspiring you need to apply sun block every fifteen minutes to two hours. If you are swimming apply the sun block after each time you leave the water.
The human skin can produces Vitamin D under the right conditions when it is exposed to direct overhead sunlight. Vitamin D maintains and contributes to normal levels of calcium and phosphorus in the blood. On the extreme opposite, if over exposed, the sunlight can cause toxic levels of Vitamin D to exist. The key to sun exposure is moderation. After a day in the sun be sure to shower or bath. I can help stop the piercing effects of ultraviolet rays. Once you are refreshed moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Drenching your bare skin in oils creams and lotions feels good and protects your skin from drying cracking a chaffing.
